TERMS & CONDITIONS
Thank you for choosing Rebekah’s Restoration.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all artworks and objects accepted by Rebekah’s Restoration for examination, conservation, restoration, treatment, storage or transportation. By approving a quotation, paying a deposit and leaving an artwork or object with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. OUR SERVICES
Our services include examination, conservation, restoration, installation, storage and transportation of artwork and objects.
Treatments are selected based on our professional assessment and are intended to achieve the best possible result while prioritising the preservation and stability of the artwork.
2. QUOTATIONS & CHARGES
Quotations are based on the information and condition of the artwork available at the time of assessment.
Quotations based on photographs are subject to confirmation following physical examination.
Additional treatment, transportation, delivery, collection, urgent treatment and other agreed services will be charged separately.
All prices are subject to 20% VAT, unless otherwise stated.
3. ADDITIONAL TREATMENT
If previously unseen damage, deterioration or other issues are identified during treatment, additional work may be required.
We will contact you to discuss any additional treatment and associated costs before proceeding, where reasonably practicable.
4. ESTIMATED COMPLETION TIME
Our standard estimated turnaround is 4 to 6 weeks.
Completion dates are estimates and may vary depending on the condition of the artwork, treatment required and our workload. In some circumstances the restoration of your artwork may take longer than originally expected.
Urgent or expedited treatment may be available at an additional charge.
5. TREATMENT RISKS
Conservation and restoration involve inherent risks, particularly when working with fragile, aged or previously damaged objects.
We will use reasonable care and appropriate professional methods. However, unforeseen reactions to treatments, changes or damage may occur during the process. Where this happens, we will assess the matter and, where appropriate, take reasonable steps to rectify or minimise the issue.
6. CLIENT APPROVAL & DEPOSIT PAYMENT
Treatment will commence once the quotation has been approved and required deposit has been received. We take 50% of the quote as a deposit upon receipt of the artwork.
Unless otherwise agreed, the remaining balance is payable before the artwork is released.
7. COLLECTION & STORAGE
You will be notified by email when your artwork is ready for collection.
Artwork may be collected free of charge for six weeks from the date of notification.
After this six-week period, an alternative option of storing your artwork in the studio for £5
per day per artwork is offered.
If you are unable to collect your artwork within this period, please contact us to arrange an alternative.
8. DELIVERY & TRANSPORTATION
Delivery and collection services can be arranged at an additional charge.
Where a third-party courier is arranged by the client, Rebekah’s Restoration is not responsible for damage occurring while the artwork is in the courier's care.
9. PHOTOGRAPHY
We may photograph artwork before, during and after treatment for condition records and to document our work.
We may also use photographs of completed work for our website and social media.
If you do not wish for your artwork to be used for promotional purposes, please notify us before treatment begins.
10. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Clients must provide accurate information about the artwork, including any known damage, previous treatments, materials, history or other relevant information.
The client confirms that they are the owner of the artwork or have authority to instruct us on the owner's behalf.
11. CANCELLATION
If treatment is cancelled after work has commenced, the client is responsible for costs incurred up to the date of cancellation, including labour, materials, examination and any treatment already undertaken.
12. LIABILITY
We will take reasonable care of artwork while it is in our custody and carry out agreed treatments with reasonable skill and care.
Due to the inherent risks involved in conservation and restoration, we cannot guarantee that an artwork will remain completely unaffected during treatment.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
13. INSURANCE
Rebekah’s Restoration maintains insurance appropriate to its professional activities, including Professional Indemnity, Public & Products Liability, Employers’ Liability and Contents cover.
Our Professional Indemnity insurance covers our professional services as art conservators working on artefacts up to £50,000 in value, with a limit of £100,000 per claim, subject to the terms, conditions, exclusions and excesses of the policy.
Our insurance does not constitute an all-risks insurance policy for the full value of artwork in our care. Clients remain responsible for arranging their own insurance for artwork where appropriate and are advised to ensure that their artwork is adequately insured while in our care, during treatment, storage and transportation.
Any claim against Rebekah’s Restoration will be subject to the terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and excesses of our applicable insurance policy.
14. EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL
We will not be responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, fire, flooding, power failure, transport disruption or other unforeseen events.
We will notify you where such an event is likely to affect the agreed timeframe.
15. AGREEMENT
By approving a quotation, paying a deposit or leaving artwork or objects with Rebekah’s Restoration, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
