SCULPTURE
Our sculpture restoration varies across a wide range of materials ranging from 2200BC all the way through to the new and contemporary. Our expansive range of specialist conservators are often collaborating together to work with the variety of mixed media and unusual materials that come through our doors.
We can restore artwork of many different mediums including wood, plaster, alabaster, marble, resin and jade.
A very gentle clean to these taxidermy red headed woodpeckers. We have also repaired their antique glass home as it had 2 pieces broken and a crack to the corner
Wooden Abstract Sculpture by Brian Willsher, 1973
This wooden sculpture has been joined back together. Cracks have then been colour filled to match the existing teak wood
Valdivian Stone Owl, circa. 2200BC
Part of a collection with Paul Hughes Fine Arts, this owl has had a very gentle clean. An old discoloured repair in the centre has been removed and adjusted with conservation materials for a more aesthetically pleasing repair.
10th Century Indian Stone Figure
We had 4 of these figures, in many pieces. They have been joined with an appropriate adhesive for stone. All the joins and losses have been filled and colour matched
A metal Palm Tree sculpture that had completely collapsed.
We inserted new internal tubes to secure the joins and slotted it back together again.
Some of the leaves had also broken and bent out of shape and so these were also tidied up and repaired.
A rather tricky job due to its weight and malleable parts but a great sense of achievement once complete and carefully transported back to its home
